Yale launches Linus L2 Lite smart lock with Matter and Apple Home support

Yale has expanded its smart lock lineup with the Linus L2 Lite, a more affordable version of its popular retrofit smart lock that brings native Matter support and seamless integration with Apple Home.

Designed to fit over an existing Euro cylinder on the inside of your door, the Linus L2 Lite keeps the external hardware and physical keys unchanged while adding smart control through your preferred ecosystem.

Simple retrofit design

Like the original Linus, the L2 Lite is designed as a retrofit solution. It mounts on the inside of the door over your existing lock and does not require changing the cylinder or keys. This makes it suitable for renters or anyone who wants smart access without altering the exterior of their door.

The lock supports app control, auto unlock when you approach, and digital guest access through the Yale Home app, while still allowing the use of a physical key if needed. You can also pair it with the Smart Fingerprint Keypad.

Matter support at the core

The headline feature of the Linus L2 Lite is built in Matter compatibility, allowing the lock to work across Apple Home, Google Home, Alexa and other Matter supported platforms without relying on platform specific integrations.

For Apple Home users, this means the lock can be added directly to the Home app, controlled alongside other Apple Home accessories, and used within automations such as locking the door when everyone leaves or unlocking when you arrive home.

While the lock works in Apple Home via Matter, it does not support Apple Home Key as it does not have the hardware required.

Pricing and availability

The Linus Smart Lock L2 Lite is available starting today from the companies online store and is priced at £129.99 along with Amazon UK. You can also pair it with Smart Fingerprint Keypad and the Platinum TS007 3-Star Euro Cylinder
