Eufy has launched its latest outdoor security camera and lighting combo, with the new Eufy Solar Wall Light Cam S4combining 4K video, RGBWW lighting, radar-based motion detection, solar charging and Apple Home support in a single wall-mounted unit.
The Wall Light Cam S4 combines an outdoor security camera with a relatively discreet wall light design. Its integrated camera records at up to 4K UHD resolution, while the camera module can be manually adjusted vertically between 0 and 45 degrees, allowing users to tailor the viewing angle depending on where the S4 is installed.
For lighting, Eufy has equipped the S4 with RGBWW LEDs, providing coloured accent lighting alongside adjustable white illumination. The white colour temperature can be adjusted between 2700K and 6500K, ranging from warmer ambient lighting through to brighter, cooler illumination for security.
The S4 also includes several lighting presets covering different uses. These range from holiday and special-occasion effects to welcome lighting for general everyday use. There is also a dedicated security lighting mode, which can combine flashing red and blue lights with either a spoken “Please leave” warning or a siren to deter unwanted visitors.
Solar-powered with up to 40 days of battery backup
Power comes from a built-in 10,000mAh battery paired with a detachable 2W solar panel, removing the need for permanent power wiring.
According to Eufy, the battery can provide up to 40 days of backup power, while around three hours of sunlight should generate enough energy to keep the camera operating for a full day.
Radar-based motion detection
Rather than relying on a conventional PIR motion sensor, the Wall Light Cam S4 uses mmWave radar for motion detection.
Eufy says its AI-powered detection can distinguish between people, vehicles and pets. Users can also configure detection zones and schedules to control when the camera’s security and lighting features are activated.
The S4 carries an IP65 weather-resistance rating for outdoor installation and also includes two-way audio. This allows users to communicate with visitors through the camera from their phone, whether that’s speaking to someone approaching the property or warning off an unwanted visitor.
Apple Home support
Perhaps the most interesting feature for Apple Home users is support for Apple’s smart home platform.
The Eufy Solar Wall Light Cam S4 supports Apple Home through the Eufy HomeBase 3 (S380). The older HomeBase 2 is not supported.
Once connected, the S4 exposes its camera feed to Apple Home alongside the integrated floodlight. Within the Home app, users can control the light’s brightness as well as adjust the white colour temperature, giving the lighting some useful functionality without having to return to the Eufy app. The mouton sensor is also exposed to Apple Home and you could use this to trigger automations with other devices.
There is one notable limitation, however. Despite the S4 being equipped with a 4K camera, video through Apple Home is currently limited to 1080p.
Eufy says it is looking to bring 4K support to the S4 in the future following the release of iOS 27 later this year, which will introduce support for higher-resolution video within Apple Home. For now, users wanting to take advantage of the camera’s full 4K resolution will need to do so through Eufy’s own platform.
