In the latest iOS 27 Beta 5, it would appear that the camera limits for Apple Intelligence support for cameras will start from 5 cameras and all the way to 30 cameras.

Apple has previously confirmed that an iCloud+ 2TB plan will be required to access the new Apple Intelligence features for cameras. However, what Apple hasn’t made clear is exactly how many cameras will be able to take advantage of those features.

In the latest Beta, you can now see how many cameras your plan supports and I’ve been doing some testing with the new feature and experimenting with the iCloud+ upgrade options.

Based on what I’m seeing, the number of cameras that can use Apple Intelligence camera summaries appears to increase depending on the amount of iCloud storage on the account.

From my testing, the limits currently appear to be:

  • iCloud+ 2TB: Up to 5 cameras
  • 2TB additional storage: Up to 10 cameras
  • 6TB additional storage: Up to 15 cameras
  • 12TB additional storage: Up to 30 cameras

This is particularly interesting because these limits appear to be separate from the existing HomeKit Secure Video recording limits.

This suggests Apple isn’t reducing the number of cameras that can record through HomeKit Secure Video. Instead, it appears to be placing separate limits on how many cameras can use the new Apple Intelligence features, including camera activity summaries.

While Apple has now confirmed that 2TB of iCloud+ storage is the minimum requirement for these Apple Intelligence camera features, it has yet to publicly detail the camera limits for the higher storage tiers.

So, for now, these numbers are based on my own testing and could change before iOS 27 is released publicly. But if they remain in place, users with larger Apple Home camera setups may need to pay for additional iCloud storage if they want Apple Intelligence summaries available across every camera.
