Netatmo smart Indoor Camera gets HomeKit Secure Video

Starting today, the Netatmo Smart Indoor Camera will support Apple  HomeKit Secure Video.  The camera joins the Circle 2 in supporting HomeKit Secure Video, although technically the Logitech smart camera is still in beta.

HomeKit Secure Video works by analysing the captured footage on the users’ iPad, HomePod or Apple TV. The footage then encrypts end-to-end and securely stored in iCloud. However, unlike the Circle 2, users of the Netatmo Smart Indoor Camera users will also be able to store their videos on the included  Micro SD  card. In addition to this, Users will also be able to still use the Netatmo security app to change settings and view recordings.

To use HomeKit Secure Video, users need a 200GB ‌iCloud‌ storage plan or above. It also needs an Apple hub, such as a HomePod, Apple TV or iPad running at least iOS 13.2.
