Lockly announces its first Home Key enabled lock alongside a Matter hub

At CES 2024, Lockly has announced a new Matter smart lock called the Visage with integrated Wi-Fi. This marks Lockly’s debut to integrate with Apple Home and HomeKey. Additionally Lockly is promising Matter support via its Matter hub for certain existing locks.

Although Apple Home will possibly be the primary choice for HomeKit users. There are numerous ways to unlock the door: you have the choice of using your fingerprints, with the sensor capable of storing up to 99 different prints; employing RFID cards, eKeys, and eBadges; or simply utilising its programmable auto-locking feature. Moreover, you can effortlessly transfer existing user profiles from other Lockly smart locks using Air Transfer.

But using Apple Home you can control the device directly from the Home App and including it in automations. Furthermore with HomeKey support you can unlock the smart lock using a iPhone or Apple Watch by simply waving the device close to the lock.

New Matter hub

Lockly also introduced its latest backward-compatible Matter hub, marking the first time that previous Lockly devices will be controllable within Apple Home. This hub will seamlessly integrate with other Matter-supported platforms like Google Home, Amazon Alexa, and Samsung SmartThings. Although Lockly did say they are still waiting for certification to be completed

The Lockly Matter hub is set to launch sometime this year at a price of $79.99. It will be compatible with specific models such as Lockly Plus, Flex Touch, and Access Touch. The Lockly Visage will be available this summer priced at $349, and will come in a variety of finishes.
