A Chinese Weibo account going by the name “Kang” this morning posted allegedly information for every product that is expected to be announced at next week’s Apple Event. Although most of the information is already known, it does include new information regarding the HomePod Mini.
An image of the original post in Chinese has been tweeted by leaker Ice Universe, who has provided accurate information on unreleased Apple products in the past.
Breaking! Probably the most comprehensive and accurate product information for the iPhone 12 conference so far, from Weibo @ kang pic.twitter.com/pn37QOTJyk

According to the leaker, the official name of the speaker will be HomePod Mini. Plus, a translation of the Chinese text suggests the following :
- The HomePod Mini will be priced at $99.
- It will be 3.3-inches high vs the height of the original HomePod at 6.8-inches.
- The alleged HomePod Mini is powered by an S5 processor, which is used in the Apple Watch Series 5 and Apple Watch SE.
Although the price is an interesting call out, the use of the S5 processor if true. Would case doubt if we could use the HomePod Mini as a HomeKit Hub like the original HomePod or Apple TV.
The leaker goes on to say that the HomePod Mini will go on sale between November 16-17. Previously Bloomberg‘s Mark Gurman has suggested the new speaker could include two tweeters, rather than the current model’s seven.
If this latest leak is true and indeed and Apple does deliver a HomePod Mini priced at sub $100. Then this will be a grand thing for HomeKit and Siri adoption in the home and Apple’s smart home platform as a whole.
Of course, Nothing is final until Apple officially announces the HomePod Mini. But I for one am pumped based on this latest information. So don’t forget to follow us on Twitter, Facebook, YouTube and Instagram for more HomeKit News.
