Further details emerge of the EufyCam 2 Pro

First reported last month, additional details of the EufyCam 2 Pro have emerged via the company’s own Security App. The find first spotted by Reddit user u/daynuh0223 on the HomeKit subreddit today shows support for the company’s two new cameras the 2c Pro and the 2 Pro.

Following this report in the morning, I held off publishing any information before I spoke to contacts. But these are all the details I can share at this stage. Although most of it can be found on its it community forum. So I shouldn’t be in too much trouble. But if I go missing, then you know why!

The EufyCam Pro 2 and 2C will support 2K, with the current Eufycam 2 2C only capturing footage in 1080p. Although HomeKit only supports 1080p streaming, hopefully this will change in iOS 14. Eufy will sell the cameras as a bundle as with the current models and will ship with a HomeBase 2.

Both models will be wireless and should support 365 and 180 day battery life. The details I have seen also suggest that both models will get the Sony Star light sensor. In terms of HomeKit and HomeKit Secure Video, both the EufyCam Pro 2 and 2c are expected to support both flavours of HomeKit.

Finally Eufy is aiming to ship the EufyCam Pro 2 and 2C by Q3 of 2020, although it’s not clear if this will be a US only launch like with the Eufy Indoor Cameras. In terms of price, I don’t think they will be that far away from the current models.

Eufy has promised me official details, so don’t forget to subscribe for when I can publish. If you have a question or a comment, then leave it below. You can also follow us on TwitterFacebookYouTube and Instagram.
