Confirmed by Eve Systems Twitter account today, it looks like they are partnering with Coulisse to launch a range of smart window coverings. The new range will support Apple HomeKit and Thread for wireless connectivity. This new range from Coulisse will support roller blinds, Venetian blinds, cellular shades and curtains.
The partnership will see Eve working with Coulisse to help with HomeKit and Thread integration. What is more special about this announcement is that these will be the first Thread enabled smart blinds that support HomeKit.
Thread, which has become the most talked about HomeKit announcement since Apple announced the HomePod Mini. Brings a wireless protocol that is far more robust that Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. But unlike other wireless standards, the More devices you add, the more robust it becomes. Currently, only Eve and Nanoleaf have launched Thread devices with rumours that Philips Hue will bring support in the future.
Eve nor Coulisse have released details on price or availability. But based on information from Eve, these will not be available directly from them, but retail partners of Coulisse. Once I hear more, I will update this article. In the meantime, you can checkout the press release from Coulisse and don’t forget to follow us on Twitter, Facebook, YouTube and Instagram for more HomeKit news.
Hope it comes to the uk!
