Arlo Pro 3 receives HomeKit firmware update

Starting today, an update is available for the Arlo Pro 3 wireless security cameras ha to enable support for Apple HomeKit. The company announced users can update firmware today for VMB4540 Smart hubs to enable HomeKit.

The Arlo Pro 3 is successor to the Arlo Pro 2 that includes support for 2K UHD video, 160-degree field of view and night vision. HomeKit support allows the Arlo Pro 3 to appear in the Home app on the iPhone, iPad, Mac. However, At the moment, this is just support for HomeKit and not HomeKit Secure Video.

To check for the firmware update and what hub you have;

  • Open the Arlo app, then select Settings
  • Now My Device
  • Now Smart hub
  • Tap Device Info and check the Hardware ID
  • If the update is available, tap on Firmware to check for the update.
