ADT today announced, serveral new HomeKit enabled security devices. They include a indoor camera, outdoor camera video doorbell, and Wi-Fi range extender that doubles as a doorbell chime. However, HomeKit support will not be added to the doorbell until quarter 2 2020.
The previously leaked ADT video doorbell will support 1080p recording, a 180-degree field of view, night vision, custom motion detection zones. It will sport two-way talk and a water-resistant design.
The doorbell will receive HomeKit support that will allow users to receive an instant notification when someone rings the doorbell. Unfortunately, ADT will not be adding HomeKit or Google Assistant support to the doorbell until the second quarter of 2020, according to The Verge. There is also no word if it will be HomeKit Secure Video or just normal HomeKit support.
In terms of features coming to the indoor and outdoor security cameras. They offer the same features as the doorbell, including 1080p video recording and two-way talk. But will offer a slightly smaller 130-degree field of view, with HomeKit support available from launch.
Each camera supports facial recognition feature that will alert you when a familiar face has been detected. Users will also get up to 24 hours of free video storage, or you can purchase additional cloud storage plans if required.
Pricing
All four products are available to pre-order starting today and will start shipping before the end of January. ADT has prices each the doorbells and cameras at $199.99 each, while the Wi-Fi extender costs $49.99. It’s not known if the products will be outside of the US. But I have reached out to ADT to ask and will update the article.
