Netatmo smart video doorbell will support HomeKit Secure video at launch

Following Apple’s announcement regarding HomeKit Secure Video coming later this year. Netatmo has officially confirmed that its upcoming Smart Video Doorbell will be compatible with HomeKit Secure Video at launch along with its existing video lineup.

In a response on Twitter, Netatmo confirmed: “The Netatmo Smart Video Doorbell will be compatible with HomeKit Secure Video at its launch and a free, automatic firmware update will add HomeKit Secure Video compatibility to new and existing Netatmo Smart Indoor Cameras and Smart Outdoor Cameras later this year.”

Apple announced HomeKit Secure Video that will address privacy concerns with smart cameras. The new feature means it processes the video on a hub like the Apple TV or HomePod. Once the video is processed it will be securely stored in iCloud for 10 days. But You’ll need a 200GB plan for one camera and a 2TB plan to support up to five cameras.
