Somfy Door keeper smart lock announced

Somfy has revealed a smart lock called the Door Keeper, which is aimed at the European market. The new lock uses Somfy’s own patented IntelliTAG technology. Which allows the user to see the state of the door to determine if it’s open or closed.

For security, the lock itself also has an integrated vibration sensor that can detect if forced entry is being attempted. If the detects anything suspicious, it will send the user a notification via the app.

Somfy claim they have fitted a fast but quiet motor to cut down on noise. The lock mechanism is a Euro cylinder type, which will be is widespread across Europe. The new smart lock comes with a variety of features that allows you to grant access to others, revoke or time-restrict access via the company’s own app.Somfy smart lock

The smart lock from Somfy will also work with Alexa and Google Home. But no news on HomeKit support.

The lock will be available in several colours and is scheduled to be available towards the 2nd quarter of 2020, but no word on pricing at this point.
