Schlage has announced that its new Sense Pro Smart Deadbolt will be available from June 29, 2026, in the United States and Canada. The Sense Pro is the company’s first smart lock to use its new Schlage Converge technology, which combines Ultra Wideband (UWB) and Apple Home Key to provide hands-free unlocking. Using a compatible iPhone or Apple Watch. Making it the second lock to suport UWB with Apple Home after the Aqara U400.
Matter over Thread and WiFi
The lock supports Matter over Thread and can connect directly to compatible Apple Home hubs, including HomePod mini, HomePod (2nd generation), Apple TV 4K (2nd generation), and Apple TV 4K (3rd generation) Wi-Fi + Ethernet. Schlage has also included built-in Wi-Fi, allowing remote access through the Schlage Home app. The app supports remote locking and unlocking, management of up to 250 access codes, auto-lock settings, scheduled locking, and configuration of the lock’s hands-free unlocking modes.
Apple Home and UWB
Through Apple Home, the lock can be controlled alongside other smart home accessories and included in automations. For Apple Home users, the launch is notable because the Sense Pro supports both Apple Home Key and UWB unlocking. This makes it one of a relatively small number of locks offering UWB-based hands-free entry alongside native Apple Home integration.
Battery life is rated at up to six months under normal use. If the batteries become depleted, the lock includes a USB-C jump-start port that can provide temporary power to regain access.
The Sense Pro is also designed to support the upcoming Aliro smart lock standard. Once certified, Schlage expects the lock to work with digital keys stored in Samsung Wallet and Google Wallet later in 2026. Compatible Samsung and Google devices with UWB will support hands-free unlocking, while NFC-enabled devices will be able to unlock the door with a tap.
The Schlage Sense Pro Smart Deadbolt will retail for $399 in the United States and $549 CAD in Canada. It will be available through Amazon, Lowe’s, The Home Depot, Schlage’s website, and participating Canadian retailers from June 29, 2026.
