I’ve been at IFA 2026 in Berlin this week, and one of the brands I got the chance to visit was Govee, where I saw its latest smart lighting products in person.
AI is a big part of Govee’s announcements this year, with the company expanding its AI Lighting platform across indoor and outdoor products. The idea is to make creating lighting scenes easier, using natural language rather than manually choosing colours, brightness levels and effects.
Govee’s AI Lighting Bot 2.0 can create personalised lighting from text and voice prompts, while multi-turn conversations allow users to refine the result until they get the lighting they want.
Govee Sky Ceiling Light
One of the biggest new products I got to see was the Govee Sky Ceiling Light, a new Matter-compatible ceiling light that Govee describes as the industry’s first AI-powered mood-responsive ceiling light.
The light combines AI Lighting Bot 2.0 with Govee’s Vitality Spectrum Technology, including a 478nm sky-blue wavelength designed to help maintain alertness when natural daylight is limited.
It produces up to 7,000 lumens and offers a wide 1,000K to 10,000K colour temperature range, with a CRI of 95. Govee’s DaySync feature can also automatically adjust the lighting based on the time of day and weather.
Importantly for Apple Home users, the Sky Ceiling Light supports Matter, allowing it to be added to Apple Home.
Govee COB Strip Light 2 Pro
Govee also had its new COB Strip Light 2 Pro on display at IFA, and one of the biggest advantages of the COB design is the smooth, almost continuous lighting it produces compared with a traditional LED strip.
The flagship strip packs 1,344 LEDs and 16 ICs into every metre, helping eliminate the individual hotspots normally visible on LED strips.
It uses RGBWWIC alongside Govee’s LuminBlend+ colour technology and supports colour temperatures between 1,000K and 10,000K. AI Lighting Bot 2.0 can also generate personalised lighting scenes using voice or text prompts.
Govee is also launching the standard COB Strip Light 2, which brings the same spot-free COB approach at a lower price. The 5-metre version costs $99.99 in the US and €119.99 in Europe, also available from September 4.
Govee Permanent Outdoor Lights 2 Pro
Govee is also taking its latest AI lighting technology outside with the new Permanent Outdoor Lights 2 Pro, which I also got to see during my visit.
These use a new dual-layer lighting design, with two independently controlled lighting zones inside each light head. This allows the upper and lower sections to display different colours and effects simultaneously, creating more detailed lighting effects across the outside of a home.
AI Lighting Bot 2.0 can generate outdoor lighting designs for different occasions, while Govee’s LuminBlend+ system handles colour reproduction and transitions between effects.
Pricing and Availability
Govee’s new lighting range begins rolling out from September 4, with availability and pricing varying between the US, Europe and UK.
- The Govee Sky Ceiling Light launches on September 4, priced at €399 in Germany and $399 in the US.
- The Govee COB Strip Light 2 Pro is available in several lengths. The 5-metre version launches on September 4 for €179.99 in Germany and $169.99 in the US. A shorter 2-metre model is priced at €89.99 in Germany, $99.99 in the US and £89.99 in the UK, with UK availability expected in late September.
- The standard Govee COB Strip Light 2 also comes in several sizes. The 3-metre version is priced at €79.99 in Germany, $79.99 in the US and £79.99 in the UK, while the 5-metre model costs €119.99 in Germany and $99.99 in the US. A 10-metre version will also be available in the US for $169.99. These models launch from September 4.
- Finally, the Govee Permanent Outdoor Lights 2 Pro arrive in the US on September 7, priced at $499.99 for the 100ft version and $799.99 for the 200ft version. European and UK pricing has not yet been confirmed.
Having now seen Govee’s latest products at IFA 2026, it’s clear the company is putting AI at the centre of its smart lighting strategy. For Apple Home users, however, Matter support is arguably the more interesting part, allowing compatible Govee products to become part of an existing Apple Home setup.
