New reports suggest Apple’s long rumoured smart home hub has been pushed further back, as the company continues to work through challenges with its next generation Siri platform.
It is important to note that Apple has never publicly announced this device, often referred to in reports as the “HomePad”. Everything surrounding the product remains based on supply chain leaks, analyst reports, and industry speculation rather than official confirmation.
However, according to the latest reporting from Mark Gurman, Apple’s internal timeline for the device may have shifted again.
The delay appears to be tied to Apple’s broader work on improving Siri. The next generation version of Apple’s voice assistant is expected to play a central role in how the rumoured smart home hub operates. Because of that dependency, the hardware itself may not launch until Siri is ready.
This would not be the first time the rumoured device has slipped. Previous reports had suggested Apple was targeting an earlier release window, but more recent information now points to the product arriving later than initially expected.
Again, this should not be viewed as a formal delay in the traditional sense. Apple has never announced the device publicly, so there is no official launch timeline to change. Instead, what we are seeing is reporting that Apple’s internal plans may have shifted as development continues.
Until Apple formally announces any smart home display or dedicated home hub product, everything around the project remains speculation.
That said, the continued stream of reports suggests Apple is still actively working on a device designed to play a bigger role in its smart home ecosystem. Along with the HomePad screen, Apple is apparently working on smart home devices like a doorbell and camera.
