SwitchBot has unveiled two new additions to its smart home lineup: the SwitchBot Lock Ultra Vision Combo and the SwitchBot Hub 3, both aimed at delivering smarter, more seamless home automation.
Lock Ultra Vision Combo: Security Meets Innovation
The world’s first retrofittable smart lock with 3D facial recognition, the Lock Ultra Vision Combo includes the SwitchBot Lock Ultra, the Keypad Vision, and a Matter-enabled Hub Mini. Its standout feature is the advanced facial recognition system, using over 30,000 infrared points to map faces with millimeter precision — unlocking the door in under a second. Privacy is well-protected with facial data stored locally using AES-128 encryption.
The lock supports up to 18 unlocking methods (though realistically, it’s just a lot), including facial recognition, auto unlock, NFC cards, fingerprint reading, voice commands, and app control. Installation requires no drilling and works with 99.9% of existing lock types — like Mortise, Night Latch, and Jimmy Proof.
A triple-layer battery system backs the device with a main rechargeable unit and a CR123A backup, and an emergency unlocking circuit. The lock also sports a sleek, ultra-thin design with wood-textured pads and a six-tier security framework.
Hub 3: A Smarter, More Connected Control Center
The new SwitchBot Hub 3 brings broad compatibility and Matter integration, serving as a centralized hub for over 100,000 IR devices (like older TVs and AC units) and the wider SwitchBot ecosystem. Importantly, it acts as a Matter Bridge, allowing SwitchBot accessories to sync with Apple Home and other Matter-supported platforms.
Other features include the Dial Master™ rotary controller for precise adjustments (like volume or temperature), customizable scene buttons, and real-time environmental monitoring via onboard sensors — all designed to support smarter, more responsive automation setups.
