New Eve Room announced with Thread support

Eve today announced the new indoor air quality monitor Eve Room, that brings Thread support. Eve Room is one of now ten Eve products that work with HomeKit via Thread, which is great to see.

Like the previous version, the new Eve Room provides three sensors that capture data on temperature, humidity, and VOC levels. In terms of design, the updated air quality sensor looks exactly the same featuring an aluminum body and an e-ink display. Power is provided by an integrated rechargeable battery that provides six weeks of power and this can be recharged via micro-USB.Eve Room HomeKit Thread

Although the New Eve Room looks identical to the previous generation, the new model supports Thread along with Bluetooth 5.0. Eve says the latest generation offers faster response times, greater range, and increased reliability using HomeKit over Thread. However, to take advantage of Thread, you will need a Thread Border Router, such as the latest Apple TV 4K or the HomePod mini.

As with the previous version, the New Eve Room supports HomeKit. Which means you can use measurements provided in automation with other HomeKit-enabled accessories. I use the Bluetooth version to turn on my air purifier when air quality declines.

The updated Eve Room is €99.95 and is available to buy directly from Amazon across Europe. For the US, its priced at $99.99 and available from this week from Amazon. The UK pricing is 89.95 and shipping will start in 1-2 weeks.
