Nanoleaf has announced its latest smart lighting product called Lines. The Nanoleaf Lines are a lighting product that works with HomeKit and feature Thread Border Router support.
The Lines connect together with the help of 6-sided connectors that fix to the wall. Each Line has two separate colour zones, with each strip and zone within each strip individually controllable. The Nanoleaf lines connect to your network via Wi-Fi and they also support thread.
Speaking of Thread, Nanoleaf as enabled the lines to act as Thread Border Routers for other Nanoleaf Thread devices like the Nanoleaf Essentials Bulb and Light Strip. This means that you could use them to create a Thread network without the need of a HomePod mini or the newer Apple TV 4K. However, Nanoleaf only supports its own products for creating a Thread network. But the company has promised that will change in the future.
The Nanoleaf Lines are avaiable as a smarter pack of 9 strips plus controller – is on pre-order with shipping in later November, for $199.99/£179, along with optional extension packs that offer 3 extra strips at $79.99/£49.99.
I plan to get a set of the Nanoleaf Lines in for review shortly, so don’t forget to subscribe for more HomeKit and smart home reviews. If you have a question or a comment, then leave it below. You can also follow us on Twitter, Facebook, YouTube and Instagram.
