What may seem like a backward step for Eufy, the company has revealed a cheaper version in its wired video doorbell series. The new Eufy smart video doorbell captures footage at 1080p and retails at $129 via the company’s website and comes with all the same features, minus the 2K lens.
Although some will see this is a backward step, its genius in a way given that most of the existing competition is around 1080p, anyway. But the actual genius in this move is the price, at only $129 and at the time of writing this, you can get $20 off with coupon, WSDBELLUSPW. This makes the Eufy Smart Video doorbell the most affordable option on the market today that I can think of.
The camera comes with all the same features from No Monthly Fee, Secure Local Storage, Human Detection. It also comes with 2-way Audio, activity zones, night vision and is rated to IP65 weatherproof standard. The Eufy Video doorbell comes with wireless chime with 8 chime sounds.
Now, while this is a totally reaching assumption, and I am probably wrong. Could this be the Eufy Wired Video Doorbell with HomeKit support that is rumoured to be coming? Two weeks ago a FCC filing revealed an eufy doorbell chime with apparent HomeKit support. This could make sense, given that Homekit only supports 1080p and the doorbell might need new audio hardware to work with HomeKit such as full duplex.
Price and availability
As I have said, I could be wrong on the HomeKit support predication, so please do not buy a doorbell based on this advice. But if you are in the market for a Smart Video doorbell. Then the affordable eufy wired doorbell is a great option at $129, but even better this week with an extra $20 off with coupon code WSDBELLUSPW.
If things change and HomeKit support arrives for the Eufy wired video doorbell, I will update this article. So Don’t forget to subscribe for more HomeKit and smart home reviews.
