Linksys router models with HomeKit support confirmed

HomeKit router support is looking very close after Eero routers showed up in the Home app. Now Linksys has now updated their product pages to show which of their routers will get the HomeKit support.

Back at WWDC last year, Apple only mentioned a generic product line of Linksys Velop which would support HomeKit. Now the company has confirmed which models will support HomeKit on its website. While the product pages shows the “Works with HomeKit” logo, it is showing as coming soon. Each model will come in both black and white colours in the following combinations.

When Homekit router support arrives, it will present users with the Home App the following controls to manage settings;

  • No Restriction: The HomeKit accessory can connect to any internet service or local device without restrictions.
  • Automatic: This setting allows the accessory to connect to an automatic list o manufacturer-approved internet services and local devices.
  • Restrict to Home: Only allows the accessory to connect to your home hub. This could prevent firmware updates or remote control via the devices native app.

Although this is no guarantee if HomeKit router support will arrive soon for Linksys routers. It is a promising move, but as always, do not buy on a future HomeKit promise.

  1. Hi,

    do you think, that EU version will get HomeKit support too? I’m asking, because on US site is HomeKit coming soon, but on EU sites it is not. Strange.

    thanks

    • I have no reason to believe it wont happen. I suspect that the pages are handled by different teams and the change has not yet been made for the local team.
