SwitchBot has expanded its smart lighting range with the new RGBICWW Light Bars, offering colourful ambient lighting alongside native Matter support for Apple Home.
The new Light Bars connect using Matter over Wi-Fi, meaning they can be added to Apple Home without requiring an additional SwitchBot Hub
Each pair features 12 independently controlled lighting zones, capable of displaying multiple colours simultaneously. There are 16 million colours to choose from, alongside 26 built-in dynamic effects. A built-in microphone also enables six music-sync modes, allowing the lighting to react to music without an additional sensor. (SwitchBot International)
Unlike some RGB ambient lights, SwitchBot has also included dedicated warm and cool white LEDs. Colour temperature can be adjusted between 2200K and 6500K, with brightness ranging from 1–100% and a combined output of up to 800 lumens.
The Light Bars can be positioned vertically or horizontally, attached magnetically to compatible surfaces or installed using adhesive mounts. This makes them suitable for adding ambient lighting around TVs, monitors, desks, shelving or bedside setups.
Alongside Apple Home control through Matter, users can control the lights through the SwitchBot app, However, while you don’t need a hub for Matter and Apple Home control, you will need a compatible SwitchBot Hub to access some of the more advanced lighting features.
The SwitchBot RGBICWW Light Bars are priced at £55.99 in the UK and via Amazon you can get them for £39.99, with the US version listed at $45.99 but again available for a discounted price of 36.99
