Apple Home Authority exists for one reason: to provide honest, transparent, real world coverage of Apple Home and the smart home.
This is built on over 10 years of using Apple Home and more than 6 years of reviewing smart home technology. Everything is tested in a real home environment, not just during a demo window or for the sake of a launch day video.
The goal is simple. Cut through marketing spin and show how products actually perform in everyday use.
Just as importantly, this platform is here to help you make informed decisions.
You should never rely on one review alone. Watch multiple videos. Read different perspectives. Compare real world experiences. Then decide what is right for your home.
Reviews are never paid for. Full stop.
- No money is accepted for favourable coverage
- No brand has input on the final review
- No review is shaped by commercial agreements
Some products are provided by brands. These are known as media/PR samples.
This means:
• Products are sent for evaluation
• There is no guarantee of coverage
• There is no obligation to be positive
• Some are returned, others are kept for long term testing or comparison
This is standard across the industry. Without it, many products would not be reviewed at all. However, receiving a product does not mean it will be covered.
Products are selected based on:
• Relevance to Apple Home and Matter
• Real world usefulness
• Audience interest
There is no obligation to create content just because something was provided.
It is also worth putting this into context.
I have well over 100 smart home devices in use in my home. While receiving new tech is part of the job, the need for new smart home gear is smaller.
Reviews are not rushed. Where possible, products are tested over time to understand reliability, performance, and how they hold up in daily use.
If something is not good enough, it will be clearly called out.
While reviews are independent, separate promotional work does exist.
This can include:
• Sponsored segments within videos
• Short form promotional content
• Brand partnerships outside of reviews
These are always clearly separated from editorial content.
There is also a simple rule:
Nothing is promoted without being tested first.
If a product is not good enough, it will not be promoted.
AppleHome Authority and its social channels is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to amazon.com, amazon.co.uk and others. This means that we may list products on reviews, articles and the deals pages which if you click through to Amazon and purchase, AppleHome Authority may receive a small commission from that sale. Possible examples of affiliate links on our website: text such as “Check Price on Amazon”, “See on Best Buy”, “See on Target.com”
This helps support the platform.
However:
- Affiliate links do not influence what gets reviewed
- Affiliate links do not influence the outcome of a review
Links may also be shared for deals or availability, but that does not equal endorsement.
Ultimately, the decision is yours. The goal here is to give you clear, honest information so you can weigh it up alongside other sources and make the right choice for your setup.
No sponsored reviews, No paid opinions, No brand influence
Just honest, real world insight to help you make better, more informed decisions about your Apple Home.
