wiz smart lighting to support Matter before the end of 2022

WiZ the smart lighting brand by Signify, has confirmed that its products will be Matter-compatible by the end-of-year. This means that the Wiz products will be exposed to Apple HomeKit.

The free firmware update will bring Matter to its full portfolio compatible, including lights and smart plugs. All new WiZ smart lighting products will have the Matter logo on their packaging, beginning in H2 2023 for easy recognition by consumers. Once Matter certification is completed, all products manufactured since Q2 2021 will receive an over-the-air (OTA) firmware. The Matter certification process is expected to be completed by the end of 2022.

WiZ works with your existing Wi-Fi router, no additional gateway is needed. The lighting products feature energy monitoring to tell you how much energy you have used. Plus, coming soon, presence detection via SpaceSense.

Matter for Connected by WiZ brands

Once the the WiZ platform supports Matter, all of the Connected by Wi partners can easily certify their products to work with Matter. Philip Smart LED is expected to have its full portfolio certified by end of 2022.
